Updates to The Lone Delver

I took a bit of a break from blogging during the busy lead up to the release of TrollsZine! #7 and for a bit after just to take a break. I do have quite a bit planned for the next few months and a number of posts in the draft stage. What I have been doing in the meantime is updating the various links found to the right.

First off I've updated the Free Online T&T Solos list and the Free Print T&T Solos list. A number of new solos have been released and a couple are no longer available. In all there are 35 solo adventures available in those two lists. More than enough to keep you busy for at least a little while. These solos are made available either directly by the author or with the authors permission. Be aware that some do link to the issue of TrollsZine! in which they were published. Please remember that the contents of these sites are the copyright of the authors. Publishing the contents in any form without consent of the author is forbidden.

Second, I've added a Free T&T GM Adventure list for those of you lucky enough to have a group to play with. There are 18 adventures currently listed as well as a link to the Random Dungeon Generator which can produce an almost infinite number of adventures. As with the solos, some do link to the appropriate issue of TrollsZine!.

Third, I've updated by blog list adding a few and removing a few. I've added the Deluxe Tunnels and Trolls blog for updates on the dT&T project as well as the new T&T blog The Rat's Digs and the updated blog The Deep Six Delver.

Finally, I've updated and expanded my lists of T&T Websites and T&T Shops to better reflect the diversity of sites currently out there. If you have not checked them all out, do so, you won't regret it.

TrollsZine! #7 has been unleashed!

The seventh issue of the fan-created magazine for Tunnels and Trolls™, edited by Dan Hembree, contains 74 pages of quality content brought to you by the fans of the game for absolutely free. This issue features a solo adventure, “The Wizard’s Hut” by J. C. Lambert, a GM adventure, “The Ruins of the Castle Pynnesse” by Tori Berquist, and a short story, “Sometimes the Saving Rolls Are With You” by Ira Lee Gossett. TrollsZine! #7 also includes articles on new types of undead and a new type of golem, a town just waiting for your delvers hard-earned money, ways of personalizing T&T character types, special attacks for monsters, gunpowder weapons, advice on solos for starting characters, and more.

"Some Points About..." Series

This is a really great series of videos on different ancient and medieval weapons and equipment that I learned about at Tenkar's Tavern. The videos cover details on the proper way to handle different weapons and their effectiveness in different situations, the use of shields, the utility and design of different types of armor, even torches and water bottles. The information is perfect for running games; lots of ideas for combat stunts for players and hazards for game masters.

Deep Where the Liche Lord Lies: New T&T GM Adventure from Tavernmaster Games

At long last Andy Holmes has returned with a new GM adventure, Deep Where the Liche Lord Lies, published by Tavernmaster Games. The book contains 72 pages and features cover art by Simon Lee Tranter and interior art by Jeff Freels. You can get a paperback copy of this new adventure from Lulu for $16.00. As with all of Andy's T&T adventures you can expect a rich gothic horror theme and a substantial pile of deceased delvers before the adventure is completed.

Final Hours of the dT&T Kickstarter

We're into the last 9 hours of the dT&T Kickstarter campaign now. So far there are 1547 backers pledging $111,919. That's pretty amazing. So far every Milestone set by the Fellowship has been reached leading to a huge number of freebies for even small pledges (you can get in for a pdf copy of the rules for only $14 and still get most of the swag). Could there be one last milestone in the final hours? We can only wait and see. If you have not pledged yet, this really is your last chance.

dT&T Kickstarter Campaign Hits $100,000

Yes, that is right, the dT&T Kickstarter campaign has met and exceeded the $100,000 milestone. It's hard to believe, but there it is. I'm really happy to see material from Sorcerer's Apprentice to be included in the incentives. Plus a new milestone has been set. At $104,000 (400% of the original goal) Liz Danforth will produce a T&T bookmark for everyone contributing $5 or more.

Spears of the Dawn Free Art Pack

I don't know how many of you are aware of the new game Spears of the Dawn by Sine Nomine Publishing. I certainly was not until it was mentioned at Tenkar's Tavern. It is a new fantasy RPG with an African theme. Now, I'm not really looking for a new rule set, but I do like the idea of the setting. The standard western European settings do tend to get a little dull. What is even more amazing is that due to the success of the Kickstarter campaign that funded this project, all of the art has been released into the Public Domain. Yes, that amazing illustration above is free to use. The download includes 61 illustrations from seven different artists (Note: you do need to be a registered user to view this item). They are all of the highest quality. Just looking at these images makes me want to look further into this system, if nothing else to get ideas. I do enjoy exploring alternate mythologies. It would be easy enough take this campaign setting and use it with the T&T system. Either way, the art is certainly worth a look. I'll be be featuring some more of these illustrations in later blog posts.
